“The comedy gig was hilarious. The compère was equally hilarious and I could have listened to him all night.”

About JK Comedy Club Soho
Soho has been the home of London comedy and counterculture for generations, and JK Comedy Club sits right in the middle of it — in the basement of The Spice of Life on the corner of Cambridge Circus. It’s our most affordable room, with tickets from £7, and one of our most relaxed: midweek shows on Tuesday and Wednesday and a Saturday afternoon matinee make it easy to catch great stand-up without committing to a big night out. With Chinatown directly across the road and Leicester Square tube two minutes away, it’s simple to make an evening of it. We also run shows at our Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus venues.
Every Soho bill mixes comedians you’ll recognise from the BBC, Netflix and Live at the Apollo with rising names sharpening their sets for the Edinburgh Fringe. Because the basement holds only around 60 people, you’re never more than a few feet from the stage — it’s stand-up at its most immediate, and no two nights play quite the same.

Meet the Comedians
Our Soho stage is where a lot of great sets get their first outing. On any given night you might catch a familiar face from TV working through fresh material alongside a newcomer having a breakout gig in front of a close-up crowd. See our comedians to find out who’s performing next in Soho.
What to Expect
Our Soho shows take place in the basement of The Spice of Life. The room holds around 60 people, making for an intimate atmosphere where you are just a few feet from the comedians. Drinks are available from the bar upstairs before the show, and you can bring them down to the basement. Shows run on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons — see the full schedule and book below, or on our What’s On page. Start the night with cocktails on our Dinner & Comedy package at The Royal Cocktail Exchange, a short walk from the club.
Our Soho Venue: The Spice of Life
JK Comedy Club Soho is located downstairs in The Spice of Life, one of Soho’s most historic pubs at 6 Moor St, London W1D 5NA. A tavern has stood on this site since around 1750, though the current building was built in 1898. The pub was first licensed in 1686 as The George, and has traded under several names including The George and 13 Cantons and The Scots Hoose before becoming The Spice of Life in 1986.
The venue has a rich musical heritage. In the 1960s and 1970s, the basement hosted performances by Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Bert Jansch, The Strawbs, and Sandy Denny. In the late 1970s it became a regular haunt for punk musicians including The Sex Pistols. A thriving jazz club followed in the late 1990s, attracting acts like Jamie Cullum and Soweto Kinch. Today, JK Comedy Club continues that tradition of live entertainment in the same intimate basement space.

Where exactly is JK Comedy Club Soho?
We're in the basement of The Spice of Life pub at 6 Moor St, London W1D 5NA. It's on the corner of Moor Street and Cambridge Circus, a 2-minute walk from Leicester Square tube (Northern and Piccadilly lines) and Tottenham Court Road station (Central, Northern, and Elizabeth lines). Chinatown is directly across the road.
What time should I arrive at the Soho venue?
Doors open 15 minutes before showtime. We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to get settled and grab a drink. Seating is unreserved, so earlier arrival means better seats.
Is there a bar at the Soho venue?
Yes. The Spice of Life has a full pub bar on the ground floor where you can grab drinks before the show, and there is bar service in the basement comedy room during the performance.
How much are tickets for Soho shows?
Tickets range from £7 to £13 depending on the night. Tuesday and Wednesday shows are £7 and Saturday shows are £13. Book online at jkcomedyclub.co.uk/buy-tickets/ for exact pricing.
How many people does the Soho venue hold?
The basement room seats up to 60 people. It's an intimate space where every seat is close to the stage, which is what makes the comedy experience so electric. Shows do sell out, so booking in advance is recommended.

No dress code. Come as you are — smart casual, jeans, whatever you're comfortable in. It's a relaxed, pub-basement atmosphere.
Which night is best for first-timers at the Soho venue?
Wednesday at 7PM is a great choice for first-timers. It's a 90-minute show with polished acts in a friendly atmosphere. Tuesday nights are new material nights — still excellent but more experimental, which comedy fans love.
Can I book the Soho venue for a private event or group?
